No. Clear Balance is a tracker and planning tool. It does not move money, make payments or contact creditors for you.
You can record your monthly income and regular spending to get a clearer idea of what may be available for debt payments. It is there to help keep a repayment plan connected to your actual budget.
It lets you test an extra payment before making it. Clear Balance then estimates how that payment could affect your remaining balances, interest and debt-free date.
The app uses the figures you enter - such as balances, APRs, minimum payments and the amount available for repayments - and models how those balances could reduce over time. The result is an estimate, not a promise: lenders may calculate interest or apply payments differently.
Snowball focuses extra money on the debt with the smallest balance first while keeping required payments going on the others. When that debt is cleared, the money that was going to it moves to the next smallest balance.
Avalanche focuses extra money on the debt with the highest APR first while keeping required payments going on the others. Its aim is usually to reduce the amount of interest paid over the repayment period.
Clear Balance shows the strategies side by side so you can compare them. Snowball can make early balance wins more visible; Avalanche may reduce interest more efficiently. The app does not choose for you.
Clear Balance works from the information you enter and produces planning estimates. Actual results can differ because of statement dates, daily interest, fees, promotional rates, payment timing or changes to your balances and budget.
No. The app provides tracking, calculations and general information. If you are struggling with priority bills, cannot afford your payments or are considering a formal debt solution, speak to a free regulated debt adviser.
